Pacific Rim: Uprising: Reshoots, Directors Cuts, and Comic-Con! (maybe?) Oh my!

Hello fellow Kaijuologists!  It's me, your favorite archeologist, harbor master, and part time Mother Superior of the Nara Island orphanage.  We got some great news about Pacific Rim Uprising and I can't wait for you to hear about it, and then get away from my island!

Seriously though get out of here I have a lot of gold to- er, fish...fish to catch.  Yes.

First, lets get to the reshoots!  Yes, reshoots are happening for Pacific Rim Uprising.  John "Dreamboat" Boyega said as much the other day on his Instagram.

A few days earlier in the Tweeter-verse Steven DeKnight, the director of Pacific Rim: Uprising, had this to say when he was asked if there would be anything at Comic-Con!

So no news specifically about a yes or no to Comic-Con, but a director's cut is in the works!

I'll be honest, this news puts me on rough seas. On one hand, reshoots and director's cuts can be good news for fans of any movie, we might get more fleshed out characters and cool piloting sequences.  On the other hand, this might be a sign that the theatrical release is going to be missing important chunks of the plot. It kind of feels like that time I found a bunch of gold in the ocean but then a giant monster woke up and crushed my house.  WAIT, I MEAN, NOT...GOLD.  GET OFF OF MY ISLAND!
